4x4 Frameless square mirror (for candle holder)
Empty glass jar (spaghetti sauce jar or cylindrical vase)
Round decorative mirror (to be repurposed as a base)
Silver plastic spoons (multiple 24-packs)
Silver ornament caps and diamond-shaped acrylic gems (for legs)
Square flat-back acrylic gems and round gem stickers
White vase filler and white primer/paint
Silver rhinestone ribbon
Mod Podge (glossy or matte) and Fix-All or E6000 adhesive

The Glue String Removal Hack: Keep those mirrors and silver finishes looking sharp! Once your glue has cooled, use a dry, soft-bristled paintbrush to whisk away any “spider webs” left behind by the glue gun.
The “Pineapple Scale” Hack: To get that realistic pineapple texture, start gluing your spoon heads at the top rim of the jar. When you move to the next row, make sure each spoon head overlaps the gap of the row above it by about half.
The Ornament Cap Leg Hack: Don’t toss your old holiday ornaments! Snip the stems off the metal caps to create a flat surface. Glue a diamond gem inside, and you’ve got instant, boutique-style crystal feet for your candle holder.
The Frosted Snow Effect: For a beautiful, textured look on your base, apply a thick layer of Mod Podge and sprinkle on white vase filler. Once it’s dry, add one more coat of Mod Podge on top to “lock” it in so it doesn’t shed.
Zero-Waste Repurposing: If you have a decorative mirror with a frame that doesn’t fit your style, just break the plastic frame away. The inner mirror is the perfect high-end platform for a vase or candle.
Instructions
Project 1: The Layered Mirrored Candle Holder
Prep the Spoons: Snap the round heads off your silver plastic spoons. Set the handles aside for a future project.
Frame the Mirror: Apply hot glue to the bottom third of a spoon head and adhere it to the outer edge of the 4x4 mirror. Continue around the entire perimeter.
Add a Second Tier: Glue a second row of spoon heads just inside the first row, overlapping them slightly to create a full, petaled frame.
Assemble the Legs: Snip the ends of four ornament caps flat. Hot glue a diamond gem (pointy side in) into each cap.
Elevate: Flip the mirror over and glue one leg to each of the four corners.
Project 2: The Snowy Mirrored Coaster Base
Strip the Frame: Use an X-Acto knife and your hands to carefully snap the decorative plastic pieces off a small framed mirror.
Prime the Surface: Paint the remaining mirror rim white so no dark plastic shows through.
Add Gem Details: Use tacky glue to adhere clear square gems all the way around the side of the mirror frame.
Apply the “Snow”: Brush Mod Podge onto the top rim. Sprinkle a generous amount of white vase filler into the glue.
Seal the Finish: Once dry, apply a final layer of Mod Podge over the white filler to lock the texture in place.
Project 3: The Silver Scalloped Pineapple Vase
Start at the Top: Glue your first row of silver spoon heads around the rim of your glass jar, pointing downwards.
Layer the Texture: Continue adding rows of spoons, making sure each new row covers about half of the previous one. This creates the “pineapple” scale effect.
Add the Base Border: As you reach the bottom, wrap a row of silver rhinestone ribbon around the base of the jar.
Finalize the Scales: Fit the last row of spoons right above the ribbon. If you have gaps, simply pop a spoon off and re-space them to ensure a perfect fit.
