The Centering Circle Hack: When you are attaching your vase to its new base, don’t guess the placement. Use the tiny manufactured circle on the bottom of the bowl as a guide to line up perfectly with the round circle on the bottom of the vase for a professional, symmetrical look.
The “Hot Glue Artistry” Secret: You can create intricate, high-end 3D details like vines using a silicone mold and hot glue. Once the glue cools, these pieces are incredibly flexible and can be bent into any position on your glass surface, giving you a custom look that mimics expensive cast-metal designs.
The Chrome Edge Upgrade: To make an acrylic vase look like expensive heavy glass, finish the rim or the base with silver car trim. It provides that perfect, mirror-like finish that masks the plastic origins of the piece.
The Glue String Eraser: Since these vases are clear and reflective, glue strings will be very visible. Once your project has cooled, take a dry paintbrush and simply twirl those pesky “spiderwebs” away instantly.
Instructions
Project 1: The Round Hurricane
Bling the Body: Wrap self-adhesive rhinestone ribbon around the center of the round acrylic vase.
Add Metallic Borders: Apply silver car trim to the bottom edge of the vase for a polished, professional finish.
Construct the Base: Turn a silver square bowl upside down and embellish it with silver car trim and a single row of rhinestone ribbon to match the vase.
Final Assembly: Apply hot glue to the bottom of the bowl and center it onto the bottom of the vase using the centering circle hack.
Project 2: The Square Hurricane
Embellish the Body: Place silver ribbon sticker trim around the square vase, approximately two-thirds of the way down. Apply silver car trim to the top rim.
Create the Base: Decorate a larger square bowl with car trim and a row of silver beading just above it.
Boutique Detailing: Glue a single silver bead to each corner of the base to square it off and add a designer touch.
Join the Pieces: Center and adhere the bowl base to the bottom of the square vase with hot glue.
Project 3: The Vine-Wrapped Narrow Vase
Cast the Vines: Inject hot glue into your silicone vine mold. Once cooled, peel the pieces out and color them using a silver metallic marker.
Position and Glue: Experiment with the placement of your vines on the tall narrow vase. Glue the vine pieces together into a single strand and adhere it to the vase with hot glue.
Match the Set: Add silver car trim to the bottom edge and a string of silver beaded necklace to match the other pieces in the set.
Finish the Base: Adhere the vase to a silver square bowl base trimmed with matching silver beaded necklace.
