Sometimes the most common household items can create the most luxurious results. This project uses silver plastic spoons and a wire wreath frame to create “crystal clusters” that mimic the look of high-end, designer wall art. Whether you display this on a gallery wall or use it as a shimmering tabletop tray, the way the light hits the faceted gems will add instant glamour to your space for just a few dollars.

💡 Sandy’s Crafting Tips & Hacks
The Cluster Assembly Line: Creating 70 to 75 crystal clusters is the most time-consuming part of this project. To make it easier, break all your spoons first, set them in a basket, and then work in stages—glue the center gems on all spoons first, then go back and add the side gems.
The 24-Hour Cure: Because the metal wreath form is being bonded to a slick charger plate, you must use E6000. Give these pieces a full 12 to 24 hours to cure before you start adding the weight of the spoon clusters. This ensures your mirror won’t fall apart once it’s on the wall.
Hanging vs. Tabletop: If you plan to hang this mirror, don’t just glue the mirror to the front. Disassemble the mirror frame, remove the backing with the hanging loop, and glue that to the back of the charger plate. This gives you a secure, built-in way to mount it.
Contact Point Precision: When gluing your finished clusters to the frame, make sure the spoon makes contact with at least two wires of the wreath form. This “double contact” provides much better stability than gluing to a single wire.
Instructions
Prepare the Clusters: Use your hands to snap the round heads off approximately 70 to 75 silver plastic spoons, separating them from the arm parts (save the arms for a future project).
Embellish the Spoon Heads: Glue three large crystal gems vertically down the center of the side of the spoon that curves outwards, then surround them with four medium-sized gems (two on each side) to create a signature “crystal cluster”.
Secure the Wreath Base: Apply E6000 to the parts of the metal wreath form that will make direct contact with the silver charger plate, then press the two pieces together and allow them to cure for 12 to 24 hours.
Attach the Mirror: Apply a strong adhesive like E6000 to the back of your round mirror and center it onto the charger plate (if you plan to hang the mirror, you may choose to remove the backing first and glue that to the plate instead).
Build the Sunburst Frame: Adhere your completed crystal clusters all around the mirror frame using glue, making sure each cluster makes firm contact with the wreath wiring for a secure hold.
Add Final Bling: Apply crystal gem stickers around the remaining visible portions of the mirror frame to hide seams and give the piece an extra-sparkling finish.
